Hey builders, welcome to the Repo by Reach Capital.
Reach Capital invests in early-stage founders redefining how we learn, live, and work. Our portfolio of 130+ startups includes tools you might’ve used in school (ClassDojo, Desmos, Handshake) and next-gen, AI-native disruptors shaping how future generations build, work, and thrive (like Replit).
These teams are constantly on the lookout for talented builders. Share what you’re studying, building, or exploring, and we’ll share projects, people, and opportunities for you to build upon.

Nothing prepares you for startup chaos like a hackathon. One idea. One weekend. Sleepless sprints and caffeine-fueled focus. In 24 hours, you go from “what if?” to “it works!” Shipping a prototype powered by pizza, pressure, and pure momentum.

At Reach, we run toward that energy. That instinct to build fast and see where it takes you? It’s the same spark that we admire from great founders.

That’s why we partnered with Major League Hacking. Hackathons are more than weekend projects, they’re the testing grounds for the next generation of builders. That repo you ship at 3 am might just be your first startup — we’ve seen it happen.

We’re consistently scouting sharp ideas and scrappy teams. Built something cool? Show us what you've got at [email protected]. (Even if it’s held together with duct tape.)

hack of the month

Balancing school and side projects is no joke. Throw in a 24-hour hackathon, and most would tap out. But MLH builders showed up scrappy, hungry, and ready to outlast the night.

Inbox chaos? Donna’s on it.

At TartanHacks 2025, a 24-hour hackathon at Carnegie Mellon, three students from Ohio State built something we wish existed during finals week: Donna, your AI-powered personal assistant for email.

Named after the legendary assistant from the show Suits, who is always one step ahead, Donna helps keep things moving when your brain’s fried and words start to blur after hours of work. You can create custom rules for auto-replies, archiving, SMS alerts, and even chat with Donna directly.

Big congrats to Varun Kulkarni, Rahul Nalam, and Krish Sanghvi for taking home the Best Use of AI Award, proudly presented by Reach Capital.

by students, for students

A true Reach portfolio story.

As a first-gen college student, Sabih Bin Wasi was frustrated trying to navigate graduation requirements at Carnegie Mellon. Would credits from his earlier studies in Pakistan transfer? It was unclear. So he cobbled together a spreadsheet to chart his path to a computer science degree.

Like Sabih, millions of students face a complex path to graduation. Between changing majors, transferring credits, navigating finances, and managing life’s unexpected challenges, the journey to a degree is rarely straightforward. Many get lost in a maze of academic requirements and administrative processes.

Along with several friends at CMU, Sabih turned those spreadsheets into Stellic, an integrated system where students can plan their coursework and class schedules, access their degree audits, and schedule advising appointments, all in one place.

Many great companies are born from personal, painful experiences. But the team needed to ensure they weren’t just building something for themselves. Since 2016, Stellic has crisscrossed the country, talking to hundreds of faculty, registrars, counselors, provosts, vice presidents, and other students to better understand the problem. Recently, they covered 52,000 miles and 12 cities in 49 days.

Today, Stellic helps over a million students worldwide at over 100 higher-ed institutions — flagship state schools, Ivy Leagues, community colleges — navigate their academic journeys with clarity and confidence.

📹 Here are videos from students about Stellic’s impact on their lives.

If you’re interested in joining the team, check out Stellic’s 24 open roles (14 of them in engineering)!
